WHAT’S COVERED IN THIS ARTICLE?

This article covers how to correct the 'Contact number has wrong symbols or wrong format' error.

WHAT DO I NEED?

Verifile login details

Access to the Verifile Background Screening form

GUIDANCE:

The error 'Contact number has wrong symbols or wrong format' is easy to correct.

The Contact phone number fields on the background screening form do not allow the use of spaces between numbers. We advise you first double check there are no spaces in the telephone number you have entered.

If removing any spaces does not bypass the error, we would then suggest you remove any Symbols (Such as / or -), and any letters that may be present.

Please note that you do not need to include the country code in your telephone number (e.g., +44 or 0044)—instead select this from the drop-down menu on the left side (e.g., United Kingdom (44)).

In order to proceed, you should ensure that the telephone number fields include only numbers.

RECAP:

Clarity is provided on how phone numbers should be entered into the Verifile Background Screening form.
