WHAT’S COVERED IN THIS ARTICLE?

This article covers what to do when providing information for your current employer, and clarifies whether we will contact them.

WHAT DO I NEED?

N/A.

GUIDANCE:

It is your choice whether you wish to provide permission for Verifile to contact your current employer. At the time of completing your Background Screening form, you can select 'do not contact' or 'contact from'.

If you select 'do not contact', we will contact you at a later date to confirm whether you would like us to contact your employer at a later stage, or hold off on contacting them altogether.

You can also call the Candidate Team helpline +44 (0) 1234 339 300, or email the Candidate Team with your permission should you change your decision.

If you select 'contact from', we will wait to contact your current employer from the date you provided. You could also call the Candidate Team helpline or email the Candidate Team hello@verifile.co.uk if you wish to amend this date.

The image below shows where to add your required permission to the application form. You can find this when you add an employment activity.

Please note: once you have submitted your online application and included permission to contact your current employer, it is possible that we have already contacted them. However, you can contact us if you would like to put a hold on any further correspondence.

There will be a delay in the progression of your background checks, so we advise you discuss this with the organisation that has requested your background check.

RECAP:

You will now understand the process of providing permission to contact for your current employer.
