GUIDANCE:

Background checks can reveal various types of information depending on what information the client (your prospective employer) is looking for and the requirement to process these checks.

The primary information required is comprised of your personal details, such as name, date of birth, and contact details. This is required by the client and Verifile to identify you in order to run the background check on your individual account.

There is also other information that is required and revealed during your background checks. To simplify this, the most common checks our client's request are:

  • Criminal Record Checks
  • Financial & Credit Checks
  • Identity Checks
  • Right to Work Check
  • Any type of Employment or Voluntary Experience Checks
  • Educational Checks, e.g., Academic / Professional Qualifications
  • Open Media Checks

This means that if your employer has requested any of the above checks, this will reveal the results of that check - such as any previous criminal records or your previous employment details.

In short, the information revealed in your checks is entirely dependant on what your prospective employer is requesting.

RECAP:

Candidates will have knowledge about what information a background check can reveal relating to the checks requested by their prospective employer.
