What is local legislation?

In the U.K., we define this as a series of rules or standards (sometimes referred to as byelaws) as set out by a local governmental authority/body requiring something to be done—or not done—in a specified area.

Everyone has the right to access their personal data under the Data Protection Act 2018, which is the United Kingdom’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to do the following:

You have the right to know exactly how your data we collect is used.
You can make a request to find out what information we have collected about you.
You can ask your data to be corrected if there are mistakes.
You can make a Subject Access Request to access your data.
You can ask for erasure of your data from records.
You can object when you do not wish certain data to be used

If you want to exercise any of the following, please be aware that you should make a Subject Access Request to the organisation that requested the background check on your behalf.
