This article covers incorrectly spelt / spelled names for Verifile accounts. 


The information used to create your profile is initially provided to us by the company requesting your background checks. Sometimes, the information used at this point can be incorrect or a placeholder for your actual information - or can even just be a typing mistake.


If you receive your Welcome Email with an incorrect spelling of your name, worry not. Once you log in to your online background screening form to provide your details, you can easily correct this.

Please note, however, that your username cannot be corrected, so you'll still need to use the incorrect spelling in order to log in. 


If your name has been misspelled on the online Background Screening form after scanning in your documents (Meaning your name is greyed out and cannot be amended), please contact us as soon as possible in order to correct this.

Other incorrect information that is provided initially by your prospective employer - such as your date of birth or email, can all be corrected once you have logged into the Online Background Screening form.
