• I did not give consent for my prospective employer to request a background check

Before commencing work on your checks, Verifile requests you to provide authorisation to run the background check on your employer’s behalf.

By submitting the Background Screening Form and ticking all the boxes on the final ‘Authority and Finish’ page, you give your consent to carry out the background check on you and declare that the provided information is correct to the best of your knowledge.

You have the right to say no to the background check, and to not consent to the background screening, however the prospective employer may withdraw their offer of employment and not carry on with the hiring process.

You should discuss the matter directly with your prospective employer if you believe they have placed an order to run a background check on you without your consent.
