WHAT’S COVERED IN THIS ARTICLE?

This article covers where candidates can get copies of their fingerprints.

WHAT DO I NEED?

N/A.

GUIDANCE:

Some international criminal record checks require you to provide us with your fingerprints. You will be required to book an appointment with someone who is qualified to take fingerprints, such as a police officer or an approved third-party provider.

Before leaving this appointment, we would advise that you check the quality of the fingerprints, as poor-quality prints, photocopies and printed copies will not be accepted.

If you live in the United Kingdom, you can make an appointment with your local police station, or with the metropolitan police in London. If you live outside of the United Kingdom, you can still contact your local police station to see if this is a service they offer.

Candidates both inside and outside of the United Kingdom also have the option of using a commercial fingerprinting service—our best advice for this would be to search online for fingerprinting services near you.

RECAP:

Candidates will now know from where they can obtain fingerprints.

More information on the fingerprints you will need to provide can be found in the International Criminal Record instructions that were sent to you via email.
