If your prospective employer has requested a criminal record check in the U.K., the online screening form will request you to answer whether you had a conviction.

If you have a previous criminal conviction in line with the DBS and Disclosure Scotland guidance**, you must disclose this on the form so that the Disclosure & Barring Service does not encounter any discrepancy when releasing the results.

  • Basic DBS check: Reveals unspent convictions.
  • Standard and Enhanced DBS checks: Reveals spent and unspent convictions, cautions, warnings and reprimands.
  • Disclosure Scotland Criminal Record check (Basic): Reveals unspent convictions.
  • Disclosure Scotland Criminal Record check (Standard): Reveals spent and unspent convictions, cautions, warnings and reprimands.
