An address history of residence is required by the third parties or the government/public bodies to carry out certain checks, such as criminal record checks, credit checks, etc.
Address histories are also required by international governmental bodies authorised to carry out background checks. If your prospective employer has requested such checks, Verifile will request your address history according to the requirements of the check. We will process this data with the organisation who will run the check for you.
We request your address details to make sure that we don’t miss any potential criminal information, and this helps to filter the accurate information on candidates.
The Verifile Background screening form is structured so that if any of these checks are requested, our screening form will advise the candidates to provide the address details according to the period (years) required for the checks.
Address details are also required for Verifile or any other organisation that needs to send any documents to the candidates’ address.
For example, if you have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check completed, DBS will post the original certificate to your current address mentioned in the online form**.

Please note that your prospective employer may request additional checks which require address details during the post submission of the screening form. Verifile will contact you to inform you of this and will provide the instructions with the requirement list.
** DBS will provide the certificate:
- Basic check - Certificates can be posted to the candidate’s or client’s current address if requested on the online screening form.
- Standard and Enhanced check - Certificates will be posted directly to the candidate’s current address mentioned in the application form during the time of submission.
