GUIDANCE:

What is an activity?

We define an activity as something you were doing between a set period. For example, you may have studied or had a gap in activity, perhaps while looking for work.

Your prospective employer may request that we carry out checks for a set period. If this is the case, we will need details of all of your activities in this time period.

Once you’ve logged into the online background screening form, it will present you with a list of pages on the left.

To provide us with your activity details, please select ‘Activity 1’.

The form will then present you with the activity page, where you can select the relevant activity type.

Once selected, you will need to provide all the relevant information for this activity. This includes the name of the employer/academic institute, the dates that you were there, and the address. Your first activity may not cover the entire period, in which case you will need to add further activities.

Please note: The activity page will change depending on what activity you have chosen. For example, employment will ask for your dates of employment and the reason for leaving.

You can add another activity by pressing ‘Next’ at either the top or the bottom of the page—you will once again need to fill out all the relevant details for your next activity.

If you had a period where you were not undertaking any employment or academic activities, you will need to select the type as ‘Gap in Activity’ and provide details of what you were doing during this time.

The form will allow you to add as many activity pages as you need, and you do not need to add these in date order.

Once you have covered the entire activity period with your activity checks, pressing ‘Next’ will allow you to progress and fill in the rest of the online form.

RECAP:

A candidate will now understand how to provide details of their activities.

FURTHER READING:
If any period has been missed, pressing ‘Finish & Submit’ will identify the exact time period that still requires an activity on the online form.

For example, you might have entered dates of activity from A to B, and the next activity from D to E, this doesn’t account for the period of C. The form will highlight this.
